Velocity cobntrol in Vegas Pro 10
Greetings all, new to the group!
I am used to using Corel Video Studio Pro X3, but I wanted to try something more powerful so I am trying Vegas pro 10.
I shot some 720p 60fps clips and am trying to get some smooth slow motion, and after looking at several tutorials on youtube I decided that adding a velocity envelope was the best way to do this. So, as per the tutorials, I added a velocity envelope the the part of the clip I want to slow down, and dragged that part of the green line way down to the bottom. Now when I try to watch in the preview window, when it gets to that portion of the video, I hear the sound going, but the video stops playing, then after it passes that part, I get the part playing further on in the video. It’s almost like I told it to freeze the video for 30 seconds or so, and delay playing it, which is not my intention. I tried different settings with the preview quality, same result. Also tried the ram preview, again, same thing. Unless I’m doing it wrong..
I watched tutorials last night till my vision was blurry, but still am getting the same result. I don’t think its my hardware lacking, I am running W7 64 bit with 12GB ram and 1GB video card. (Vegas is also 64 bit)
I must be missing something here, but I don’t know what. I really like the idea of being able to speed up or slow down parts with the green line in the VE, but I have to figure out how to get it to work first!
Can anyone help?
On another note, the youtube tutorials are ok, but is there a good “vegas for noobs” tutorial somewhere?
thanks in advance!
