I am having another odd Vegas9a-64bit behavior, where an event’s visual will randomly drop out. It may just be one video clip, out of a group of clips on the timeline. All clips are located on the same drive, so it is not an external drive going into sleep mode.

The dropped clip is there, as I can make it play from Windows Explorer.

Closing and re-opening the project will return it.

Has anyone experienced this with Vegas9a-64bit?

To finish my projects, started in Vegas8c-32bit, I am considering installed Vegas8.1-64bit on my new Vista-64bit system.

Will Vegas8.1 coexist with Vegas9.0a on the same system?

It is probably important to note that Vegas 8.1 is the same as 8.0B and that 8.0C has more functionality (like the trimmer improvements). So Vegas Pro 8.1 is older than the 8.0c that you used. I assume that you already know that 32-bit plug-ins won’t work in 64-bit mode so if your project uses any 32-bit 3rd party plug-ins you can can’t use them in 8.1.

    Yes.
