Vegas won’t open cineform file with 5:1 surround sound
I have converted a number of avchd files (made with surround sound) to cineform avi files.
In the past (when i converted with Neoscene) the audio files came out as stereo but loaded on the Vegas timeline without issue.
I’ve been trying to run these avchd files through Neoscene and keep the 5:1 surround sound, and was told i needed to configure AC3filter to output audio in 5:1
I noticed i had ffdshow installed, but not the AC3filter.
Ok, i installed AC3filter and changed the settings. Restart PC.
I convert the files again using Neoscene, and they play back in most media players (VLC can’t but at least the audio is showing as 3F2R/LFE)
I try and load the files into Sony Vegas (plat 9) and it only displays the video track. No audio for the cineform 5:1 files.
Cineform stereo files load normally, and the original avchd files load with the extra audio timeline tracks.I uninstalled ffdshow thinking about conflicts, but no difference.
I can’t work out what the issue is. Sony Vegas does not seem to like cineform files with surround sound audio.
