Vegas using 100% CPU i5 760, 16 GB RAM. What’s wrong?
I’m rendering a video montage for a video game and for some reason my CPU Usage always goes to 100% and If I don’t set the priority of sonyvegas.exe to low I can’t left and right click without lag.
I started it overnight, not checking anything, then when I got back on today my CPU was at 100%.Please view the following screenshots:

As I have said many tmes, the CPU usage is not a reliable indicator of program efficiency. Your problem is a perfect example of why. 100% does not mean that Vegas s using 100% of your CPU time. More likely, something else is eating it.
Run resmon, select the CPU tab and sort on the CPU column. This will tell you which processes are eating your CPU time.Steve Mann
