Vegas Trial won’t launch
I just installed the Vegas 7.0b trial and the DVD Architect 4.0a trial, after first installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
I registered the software, and DVD Architect launches and works fine.
But when I launch Vegas, it will only get as far as “Querying additional plug-in interfaces…” It never gets any further. It’s not locked up, Task Manager reports it running, but it just sits there with the hourglass, flashing the glass every so often, but never gets further.
I tried the CTRL-SHIFT launch to clear the cache and everything, but it still stops there.
When I eventually kill it in Task Manager, the Vegas interface comes up for a second, and I see an error box in the center saying “Default Media Library not found.”
I thought the problem might be Media Manager, so I unistalled that. But Vegas still stops at the same spot during launch.
I’ve now uninstalled it all and am reinstalling it from scratch.
Any idea what the problem is?
Oh, and I even tried running the stand-alone capture utility, and that seems to work fine.
My system is a dual-Xeon 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, WinXP SP2. I have a Newtek VT[4] installation in the system, but other Newtek users say they have no problem with Vegas installed as well.
Thanks for any suggestions! I really want to get to try Vegas 7 out! 🙂
