Vegas Studio Platinum 9.0 resolution problem
I’m currently working on a trailer for a project I’m working on. I’m submitting it to an online network that has agreed to show it on their youtube channel, but they’ve given me some pre-roll and post-roll that shows the network’s logo. They absolutely require that the pre/post-roll aspect ratio and the trailer itself match. For some reason, even though both the pre-roll and the trailer are 640×360, I’m still getting tiny black bars for the trailer footage when I render them together. The pre/post-roll fills the frame just fine.
Here’s what I have it set to before rendering:
I’m doing something wrong, but I just can’t figure out what!

What are your project settings in Movie Studio?
What are the property settings on the media for the pre-roll and trailer events and are they different? (since only the trailer has this problem) Use Right-click | Properties | Media on the events and tell us what it says.

I wonder if the trailer has those black bars already because all of those properties seem to be correct.
Here is what you should do: Open the Pan/Crop on the tailer and right-click and select Match Output Aspect. That should correct the problem.
BTW, if you see the black bars in the Pan/Crop window then they are already on the trailer. Adjust the crop inward a bit and it will remove them.

That did the trick. Not sure why the black bars would already be on it, but it’s fixed nonetheless. Thank you so much!

I would let the network know that you had to crop the black bars out and that they should probably fix their trailer.
