  • Vegas says: files not found, and media offline

I started editing like a week ago and everything was fine, till i stopped editing for 3 days and it said: file not found, and media offline. I didn’t go in the folder where the clips are at or the project in vegas in those 3 days. But when i came back more than 50% of my clips said media offline and when i open the project it says files not found.
If i go in the folder to try to find my clips they are gone, it only shows the name of the missing file with .sfk behind it but i cannot open it.
In Vegas in project media the missing clips shows a media player icon with a black background and i cannot click on it.
I already tried search missing file, but it didn,t work.
Sorry for my poor english, i hope you guys can help me out with this one.☺
I edit in Sony Vegas pro 17.
All my clips are mp4, and i clipped them with Geforce Experience with the option Highlights and Instant Replay.
    Greetings, Gioily Mutueel

Did you try to specify a new location or replacement file?

Yes i did, but it looks like that the files are gone and the mp4 files changed to sfk files

SFK files only hold the visual representation of the audio waveform and are essentially useless from a user perspective.

It sounds like somehow the source clips got deleted. Perhaps you inadvertently deleted them (when I first started editing in Vegas I accidentally deleted a few clips out of the Explorer view thinking I was only removing them from my project, but nope, that deletes them from the disk).

You’ll need to copy your source clips back to the folder from a backup (or maybe check the recycle bin?) and then your project should open normally.
