  • Vegas saves Snapshot at only 96 dpi, despite best (full) project and preview settings

Is SD DV really only 96 dpi?
If not, can Vegas create higher resolution snapshots?

In the preview window, I clicked the “save” icon and thus saved a snapshot – a single frame of the video. The preview is set to “Best (Full)”.
    I understand that the jpeg is only 655×480 because 720 pixels with a pixel aspect ratio of .909 = 655 square pixels (720 x .909 = 655).
I don’t understand why the snapshot jpg has a resolution of only 96 dpi.
My digital camera’s jpegs are 480 dpi.
My project is standard definition NTSC DV, 720×480.

    Don’t worry about it.
DPI is a print term and, as such, has no bearing or relevance to video where the only thing that matters is pixels.
Say No to 72 dpi does an excellent job of explaining why dpi is irrelevant in video.
