Vegas Render time question
Hello Guys,
This might be the silly question of the month, but I am really puzzled.
When I render AVCHD to 720P I have noticed that at the point when the render bar say exactly 50% the screen show the video is finished, BUT then it seems to start rendering again from the beginning. even odder is that the render-time keeps growing, so it may say 20 minutes left render for the next hour or so.
I tried the same project but reduced it to 640×320 ( 1/4 size ) and this time it render as predicted in about 25 minutes (compared to 85 minutes)
I understand that it is reasonable that a project rendered to 1/4 the time should render in about 1/4 the time. I just don’t understand why Vegas seems to start over about halfway and why the render time prediction seems so far off.?
—– btw, on another note, what is the best way to render a quick preview project..? can this be done in less time for review of a project.?

Wait – clearly I am not smart enough here.
Is there a option to chose 2 pass render…. Where.? and what does that really mean..?

When you choose your template, look to the right. There’s a buton for custom settings. Click that and go to the video tab. that’s where you set/change your 1-pass, 2-pass cbr, vbr and bit rates, etc.
