Vegas Recording Problem – wave forms disappear
Hello everybody,
it would be great if you could help me fix this problem:
When I record music (e.g. guitar) with Vegas 8, the wave form shows up as I play and record.
However, when I hit the stop button, the wave form disappears and a silent take remains.I have not made any changes to my settings etc.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Does a dialog box show up right after recording? It should, if you haven’t disabled it.
It will ask if you want to keep the new recordings. If not it can be reactivated from the preferences settings in Vegas. -
Yes, dialog box show up right after recording. I have enabled it. But when I press ok to keep the recordings, track get empty. That what I recorded, disappear. Track have definite size but have no lenght time.

See where you are storing your temp. files and make sure there is adequate space to store the recording. If you have another drive besides your main one, try moving your temporary file location (within Vegas) to the other drive as opposed to the one that has Windows on it.

I did that what you say but it doesn’t helped. Still wave forms disappear and file have no time. But sometimes, one of about twenty recordings is good. Have the time and save with wave forms. But it’s not regular or not happen exactly for over 20 times recordings. Sometimes there is no recordings even after 30, 40 or more recordings. I don’t know. What else can I do?

I had this exact problem, and for me, disabling Kaspersky Anti-Virus seemed to do the trick. I have not got a clue why it works without it running in the backing ground but it does. If you have an anti-virus, try disabling it

if you have antivirus software running,
add vegas to the trusted zone and enable “do not monitor application activity”This should work.
