Vegas Pro won’t let me move a group of images
Hello all,
The attachment shows a small group of images that I’m trying to pull to the end of the music track, but Vegas only lets me pull them halfway. Over the video track where the red arrow is pointing to there is a blue line with little arrow and a straight vertical line in front of it. Every time one of those appears something doesn’t work in the video editing area.
Does anyone know what that line is and how I can remove it? Am I right thinking that line is the cause of my problem?

I do this a lot and never have nay problems.
The blue line is just a loop region and doesn’t affect anything during editing.
Do you have these images grouped together before you try moving them? -

Yes, they are grouped. When pulling the images towards the end they move together and a wavy line appears between them which confirms the grouping…. -
A thought just occurred to me and that’s to make sure you have Auto Ripple disabled as it will cause all kinds of grief when trying to do a move like this.
It’s a toolbar icon or the shortcut key is Ctrl+L to enable/disable it. -

Sounds to me like you’re “slowing them down” instead of “moving them” and you’ve reached the limit of your slowdown.

It was disabled already, Mike. It might be more on the lines of what Edward Troxel is saying.

Ahhh! Thank you! And is there a way of stretching the group to fit the length of the audio track? (they’re still images, by the way).

Of course there is 🙂
As long as they’re grouped like you’ve said they are, place the cursor at the end of last image in the sequence, hold down the Ctrl key you’ll see a ~ appear under the cursor rectangle) and drag it to the right (or left, as the case may be) to the desired new location and you’re done. -
That’s exactly what I was doing when I ran into the problem.
I gave up and did it manually although in larger presentations it will a lot more difficult to move images one by one. I’ve gone to Sony with this problem, see what they say.

When you hold down the CTRL key and resize anything, you can only make it up to 4 times longer. You’re actually changing the playback rate and it will only go down to .25x. You were needing to go more that 4x longer and that’s why it did not work all the way to the end for you.

Thank you, I thought it was that since your first response, sometimes one has to run into these situations to find out what the software limits are.
