    PC Specs: 2950x, 32GB Ram, 2080 ti, 256gb M.2, 2.5tb ssd,2tb Hdd

ISSUE: So no matter what I am trying to edit the preview keeps freezing and stuttering the moment I add a transition or even just merge the clips to fade into one another it will continue to freeze until I pause the video. I tried to edit my GH5 4k h.264 footage and attempted to edit PC recorded 1440p footage, same issue occurs. I put the preview at the lowest possible resolution (480p) and changed the quality to Draft(auto) and the same thing happens. I increase the RAM in the settings to 16gb, no fix. Any advise

Wayne, what version and build of Vegas are you using. I seem to remember there was a fix in Vegas Pro 16 for some kind of compatibility issue with GH5 source media, but do not remember what the issue is.

Have you tried converting a sample of your source media to another format like .MXF AVC, or another compatible format for the resolution?

The test the converted media in a clean project?

    Hi Wayne,

This note is listed for Magix Vegas Pro 15 (build 216) in the ‘Features’, 4K, 10-bit 4:2:2 AVC files from the Panasonic GH5 camera are now supported

What build of Vegas 15 are you using? (although if you have tested with the VP16, it should have that feature)

Are you using a proxy file or the source media on the timeline? To take advantage of smoother preview using a proxy file, the preview quality has to be ‘Draft’ or ‘Preview’, as using ‘Good’ or ‘Best’ Vegas will revert back to using the source media.

As Aron suggested, have you tried to convert your source to MXF or Sony XAVC format and how does that perform?

If you set your GH5 to MOV (Rec Format), and LPCM 100 Mbps (Rec Quality), do those files then perform better in Vegas?

    Best Regards……George
