Suddenly getting these errors in Vegas Pro 10.
Have no idea why this would suddenly happen.
However, after closing, it says that the SYSTEM has recovered from a serious error so I’m thinking perhaps Windows XP Pro is messed.
    What do you think?

You’re running 10.c and 10.e is the latest version for Pro 10 so I recommend upgrading to it first and see if your problems go away.

Updated to 10e…still the same problem.
    Getting these OS errors now…

    LOCALS~1\Temp\WER4690.dir00\Mini042616-02.dmp
    LOCALS~1\Temp\WER4690.dir00\sysdata.xml

Offhand, it looks like it can’t open the hundreds of clips on the timeline. It stops and throws the vegas has stop working error.

You know Win10 with Vegas 13 B473 is probably more stable and feature rich.

With some huge number of files, you may be hitting the memory ceiling for 32-bit Vegas. Upgrading to Win10-64 and Vegas 13 may solve this if this is the issue. Not sure what type a project would require a huge number of source files to hit that ceiling. If you are trying to do timelapse, use image sequence import vs dropping on the timeline.

Here are a few things to try with such an old system:

Clean it out top to bottom, and reseat cards and memory

    Run CCleaner – Reboot

Run Malware Bytes and check for bugs.

Check HDD for surface errors or failures.

Then test RAM for failing blocks with Memtest86+ outside of windows, and run a complete set of tests. Any errors found at all mean you need new ram in that slot.

Upgrade the machine to something modern

I first ran memtest86+ which threw millions of errors before I shut it off. Then I opened the box only to find one of the memory stick has popped out. Everything works again.

I’ve hundreds of short clips on the timeline that I copy to another timeline. I was wondering if I should put these in media folders or does it really matter?

    Thanks
