Vegas Pro 9.0 – preview keeps switching back to Preview (Half)

I am not in front of Vegas now, but you just have to disable this function.

Right click on your video preview screen, then a selection will pop up,
de-select the (adjust playback for optimal settings)
that’s all it is.

This is the default mode for Vegas 10. What it means is that your PC can’t keep up with the demands of best(full). If you turn off the auto mode (see Shawn’s reply), then it will slow the playback to less than full-speed.
