August 31, 2009 at 9:37 amHi Etienne,
thanks for all your help 🙂
I have asked Sony if they have an FTP server to put my 80 Mo file… there are looking for…
If not, I will try with Free download service (dl.free.fr)
If nothing is working, I will ask your help again.I think I have found the problem. If I check the OUTPUT m2ts generated by Vegas, here’s the log :
SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.8.4(b) https://www.smlabs.net
Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.0 Resolution: 1440:1080i Frame rate: 25
H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream.
Decoding AC3 stream (track 2): Bitrate: 448Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
H264 bitstream changed: insert SPS/PPS units
Processed 931 video frames
Mux successful complete.
Muxing time: 16 secIt seems that the H264 muxing fps is not set !. If I corrected this, the rendered file is working !!!!!
Could you try with your ? (I use TSMUXER to correct the fps)

August 31, 2009 at 1:01 pmPutain!! That is brilliant.
The file came out cleaned of problems. On my laptop as well as on my TV!Like a clean and proper avchd file.
I get the exact same message (with the H.264 muxing fps not set)from the muxer when it’s working the file.
I didn’t force any fps change or any level change, and the output file is still working.
Just for test purposes, I run that already modified file again in tsmuxer to see it the same message would appear (H.264 muxing fps not set), and it does.
So go figure, but anyway, the result is that tsmuxer makes the file playable.
Congrats for doing that. That definitely brought a big step forward, well basically solved the problem 🙂
I hope Vegas is going to get an ftp site so you can still upload the not working file. It’d be nice to have a fix for that extra step.Etienne
P.S nice little software that tsmuxer… -

August 31, 2009 at 2:14 pmInteresting solution!
I still have all my bad files that would mess up near the end, so I can try them all with TSmuxer and see if they work. Obviously I’d love for Sony to fix this, but if it’s only a small fix they need to make, it’s more likely to get done!
Good work.

August 31, 2009 at 2:22 pmWhat exactly are you doing in TSmuxer? When I load one of my renders, it shows that it has an FPS at the bottom. Do you select “change fps” anyways, and remux? Maybe it’s not the FPS problem, but the way vegas is muxing the audio and video. Perhaps TSmuxer redoes it correctly?

August 31, 2009 at 2:35 pmI didn’t change or select the “change fps” box. Just left it unchecked.
I tried checking some other boxes, and all the time the file came out with no problem. So I suppose the solution is somewhere internal to the tsmuxer software.I checked with media info (same thing as Gspot) to see if there are changes between the bad original file, and the good tsmuxered file, but didn’t see any differences in their detailed properties.
So I hope that Sony will give some explanation when they fix the problem.

October 5, 2009 at 2:59 pmHello,
I am new on this forum but suffering from the same rendering bug when playing Vegas generated m2ts files on PS3.
Do you have any feedback from Sony regarding the submission of avchd rendering issue?
I recently purchased Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and I faced the same problem: slow motion, sound de-sync after playing above 2 minutes.
After reading this thread I can see that there are two temporary solution for this problem until Sony repairs this bug: Main Concept AVC rendering or tsmuxer. Can you explain to me how to use tsmuxer in order to repair m2ts file?Pawel

October 5, 2009 at 8:24 pmHey Pawel,
Sony didn’t release a 9.0c, so the problem is still there.
But Oliver did find a fix for that. And a simple and quick one!
I don’t use Mainconcept AVC. I render all my files as m2ts with sony AVC (so that I can keep the 5.1 sound).
When it’s rendered, just launch tsMuxerGUI, there is no installation needed for this program, just run it from the folder.
Then, it’s pretty straightforward. You add your m2ts file to the input files. Then you select your output: m2ts and you browse to the location where you file should be saved.
then press Start muxing, and you get your files perfectly synched.Hope that helps.

October 6, 2009 at 6:41 pmHi Etienne,
Well, it worked ! TSmuxer managed to produced m2ts file that was played smoothly on my PS3. And it was synced. Thank you very much!
BTW, I hope that Sony corrects this codec bug so we do not have to use external software to repair m2ts files.

October 6, 2009 at 11:44 pmHey Norman,
I’m responding to your post but had already posted a new thread. I am responding here because I see similarities in my problem. I am using Vegas 9.0b, Win XP, 4gb RAM (3.25GB), Quad Core and recently mine began going belly up on renders. The error is always memory related and it might come after 1%, might come after 10% but usually around there.
My footage is 23.976fps, 1920×1080 and I’ve tried most variations in frame size. The clip is just 3.45 mins and I am usually only messing with about 1 minute or 2.
Amazingly however is I can render an avi uncompressed, top quality without issue. This sort of tells me that it shouldn’t be a memory issue.
The avi takes forever but it works. But for just draft clips where I want to render a wmv file at 23.976, 1920×1080….errors out.
Appreciate the help from yourself or anyone else.
Eric
