Vegas Pro 9 crash while rendering any bluray spec
Ok I’m new to Vegas Pro 9 but I have stumbled through the manual.
Dumped Pinnacle Studio (9 & 11) after years of crash after crash after crash. Heard Vegas was more stable and also better for HD and bluray based on my PC specs (see my profile).Trying to burn HDV video recorded on my Canon HV20 to bluray using Vegas and DVDa.
2 hours total video recorded at 1440x1080x32, 29.970fps (60i, not 24p)I understand the importance of rendering with Vegas in a file format that DVDa likes, and the importance of making sure the source files native attributes are known to Vegas. When I point Vegas at my imported m2t files in correctly identifies them as 1440x1080x32, 29.970fps.
However, when attempting to render anything using the 1440×1080 MPEG2 templates for bluray, Vegas hangs. Well, not Vegas perhaps but I get the Windows message saying Vegas stopped working.
(sorry- I do not know how to access Vegas error logs). If I render within Vegas in HDV 1440x1080i, I have no issues and I can open that file with DVDa.
I am in the process of creating a bluray with DVDa and it is clearly recompressing the video since it claims it will take 10 hours to complete the entire rendering process and burning to bluray.
Any tips as to why I cannot use Vegas to render the file in a bluray template?
And am I correct in understanding that if I was able to rended using a bluray template within Vegas that DVDa would not recompress the video and I would end up with a faster burn from DVDa?Or am I incorrect in thinking that I am getting recompression twice?
thanks in advance
