So I had already 4 instances of Vegas running and I opened a 5th, typically I stick with 4 as a max. Well Vegas wouldn’t load, so I closed all Vegas instances and rebooted, it still won’t open, I have tried

    running as administrator

holding ctrl shift while clicking on the file

nothing works. Each time I delete any Vegas process in the task manager before trying again

Why would you need so many open instances? Sorry I never do that with software…

I usually jump back and forth between projects. Update. Vegas finally opened, it just took forever

    Hey Mike,

Great that you got it to open again.

Would be interesting to know your machine specs?

    Although, you are sorted:
Good idea to check how much space you have on your drive?
Where is your Virtual memory sitting, and how much space does it take?
Don’t know if you use CCleaner, it starts from free, but can help you clean your drive for orphan files – just make sure to make back-up of registry before cleaning it.

    Hope this helps?

Well I spoke to soon, yes I somehow have one instance of vegas open, however I cannot open a new project file if I click on it in explorer, nothing happens. same if I try to open the program with it’s executable icon.

Now I am afraid to turn off my computer.

I can though load a project into vegas and edit it. now it won’t let me drag new media into the timeline.

Not sure about the virtual memory, my ssd is nearly full though.

    Hey Mike,

    That’s annoying.

Sounds like you need to free up space:

What does your System > Storage > Temporary files show?

WARNING: DO NOT “REMOVE YOUR DOWNLOADS FILES” – unless you have checked them, or backed them up to a seperate folder.

Have you deleted render files (temporary pre-renders) for all of your projects?

If going manual, A.I. suggests: “often found in

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\<version>\

or the folder defined in your project properties.”

If you have it, could you add an external drive for you to free up space on the main drive?
