Vegas Pro 20 renders corrupt or unsupported files
Posted by Michael Ledesma on February 20, 2025 at 3:53 pmMy Sony Vegas Pro 20 renders corrupt or unsupported formats no matter which format I choose. It used to work fine until a month ago. Nothing has changed Any ideas?

February 20, 2025 at 4:53 pmHey Michael! If Vegas suddenly starts rendering corrupt or unsupported files, a few common fixes are:
- Update your GPU driver. If that doesn’t help, try reinstalling Vegas. Codecs can sometimes become corrupted due to driver conflicts.
- Disable GPU acceleration under Preferences > Video (this can fix rendering errors caused by GPU conflicts).
- Go to Preferences > File I/O and toggle Enable legacy AVC decoding to see if it makes a difference.
- Render to a local drive instead of an external one. I’ve had issues rendering to external drives in the past.
These fixes have worked for me before. If none of them help, I recommend reverting any settings you changed just in case.
Let me know how it goes!
