I’ve just upgraded from Sony Vegas Pro 14 to 16 and the thing I notice instantly is the text at the top of each clip on the timeline? I’d like to know if there’s a way to remove it as it’s very intruding. Taking up more space than necessary. If there’s no way to remove the text then I’ll probably just have to continue to use 14, as it’s awful!

The text I refer to can be seen in this image. Above every clip is the name of the clip. Annoying!

Thanks to anyone that can help with this. The program seems great so far otherwise!

Embarassing, but I’ve just figured it out.

    1. On the timeline, choose any clip and click the 3 horizontal lines.
    2. Click Event Header to turn it off
    3. Then click on the 3 lines and this time turn off ‘Active Take Information’

Simple as that. It’s a little hidden but easy enough to find. Hopefully that’ll help anyone else that wants rid of the text!

There’s also a handy KB shortcut to toggle Event Headers off/on in View menu, i.e. Ctrl+Shift+M (mentioned here).

Works in Magix Vegas Pro 15 and 16. And in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 15 and 16 as well though it is missing from View menu there.

FYI, these 3 horizontal lines are called “hamburger menu” 🙂

It took some time to digest that hamburger 😉

I’ve turned off most of the new stuff, and put back most of the old buttons. It’s not a bad feature but eats up too much room for me. For people who have the preview screen on separate monitors and also use higher resolutions i’ve sure it’s better.
