Wow, that’s not good. I wonder if it could have something to do with your motherboard? I mean this is working for a lot of people right out-of-the-box.

Maybe it’s the AMD drivers. Try using an older driver. I using driver 14.301.1001.0 because I’m on a Mac Pro and I’m using the drivers that support Bootcamp but they work perfectly.

Yes was googling again today for PCI-e test software and what chipset/drivers
uses those slots, goes a bit to far now all for me,
as far i could read it’s the X97 chipset and the CPU that controls the pci-e slots or something, i try’d older drivers..and i have to use drivers from 15.7
on now as of the new 3xx series… but ye..wow.. 550e spended now…for what.. 🙁

I did get a tip form the Sony forum to grab video:

I see now the opposites whats happening, its screen flickering all the time because
of the low FPS (30 on vegas and 60 on external) ?!

I only see the flickering when clicking the media but it is reverse what i see i think…:

    Could that be it?

Does it happen with other media that is not using the FRAPS codec? Could it be a codec decoding problem?

I appreciate you answers and thinking but this is really not a codec problem
i thought after a few weeks of google i read everything, now i find about this
and google “extended display low fps” i finnaly read things with my so called
specific problem, i am not the only one…

[Elvis Poldervaart] “i finnaly read things with my so called specific problem, i am not the only one.”

Well that’s reassuring. At least it’s not particular to your system. Good luck in finding a solution.

I hate to say it, but this is *exactly* why I switched to the Mac. Final Cut Pro X works extremely well with both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. No surprises, no messing around, no wasted time. Sorry we couldn’t help you figure this out.
