Vegas Pro 13 64-bit WILL NOT open .veg files WHATSOEVER “this action is only valid for products that are currently installed”
the power went out while I was in the middle of working with Sony Vegas 13 64-bit on my laptop so I saved the project and wrote the .veg file to the desktop to save battery and not have Sony Vegas use it all. now that the power is back on, EVERY TIME I TRY TO open the .veg file with Sony Vegas, I ALWAYS get the following error message: “this action is only valid for products that are currently installed” after a ‘windows installer’ appears for about 10 seconds. it DOESN’T MATTER if I double click the .veg file or right click the .veg file and > open with > Sony Vegas Pro 64-bit. both ways result in the error. opening Sony Vegas then to Open Project works just fine.

Then I would just save it under different name and see if that opens. It sounds like the veg file was corrupt by the power outage. If that doesn’t work, start a new project with just a title and save it, then see if you can open that by clicking on it. If you can’t then it’s not the project file, it’s Vegas Pro itself. I would uninstall, reboot, then reinstall.
