For my render settings, GPU acceleration has always been off.

[Douglas Wheeler] “For my render settings, GPU acceleration has always been off.”

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I’m not talking about rendering. I’m talking about Options | Preferences | Video and turning off GPU acceleration of video processing.

OK, I was hoping that was it. Maybe try reverting back to the previous graphics card drivers before you installed Simcity 2013?

I tried to manually select the previous driver from my PC but it was not stored, however I found a driver on-line, I installed it and now the estimate render time has gone down to 1 hour and the preview window is running smoothly (on draft auto).
    Thanks for all the help!!!

Awesome! It’s amazing how something as simple as the version of a graphics driver can have such a negative impact on a computer. This is the reason I perform a daily incremental backup of my PC every day. So when it doesn’t work like it did yesterday because of something I just installed, I can go back to yesterday in a few clicks and continue working again. If you don’t have a good backup plan you should.

I am having this problem as well. How would I know if those Vegas Pro codecs are being used? How can I get those codecs to work or even install them again? Thank you

[Joe Bigornia] “How would I know if those Vegas Pro codecs are being used?”

There is a tool called GSpot that will tell you which codecs will be used to play a file in Windows.

[Joe Bigornia] “How can I get those codecs to work or even install them again?”

Uninstall everything. Reboot. Only re-install Vegas.

[harry singh] “COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I AM MAKING MISTAKE.”

Yea, I can se two big mistakes:

[harry singh] “my machine is – i3 prosessor.3.3 ghz. 8gb ram. GT FORCE- 610 NVIDIA 2GB- GRAPHIC. CARD”

Your first mistake is trying to edit video on a Core i3. This is totally inadequate for editing video. You need a Core i7 and can get by with a Core i5 with some lag but a Core i3 just doesn’t have enough power to edit video.

[harry singh] “I INSTALL CODEC PACK KLITE. MEGAS CODEC PACK. “

Your second mistake is installing any codec-paks. These will replace the high quality codecs that you paid Sony for and replace them with inferior quality codecs that do’t work well with Vegas Pro or Movie Studio even if you had a Core i7.

So you need a more powerful computer if you want to eliminate lag, and when you get one, don’t ever install a codec-pak on it.
