  • Vegas Pro 11 Titles & Text – Left Align all text boxes

I’m putting some text in a few of my clips but I can’t figure out how to make sure they are in the exact same spot in each scene. I am using the same text size for all of them, but some of the texts are longer than others. I know you can manually move the text boxes, but I want all of them to be in the same spot. For example, I have a text box with a location of 0.28,16 (bottom left corner), but if I use that exact figure for all my text boxes it doesn’t work out. For some of the longer text boxes, it actually places the left side off the screen. To get those to match up they end up being 0.35,16 and I’m not even sure it’s an exact match. Is there any way to accomplish this because manually moving each text box and trying to make them all in the the same exact spot (left aligned) isn’t easy.

I’m using Vegas Pro 11 and the titles and text media generator. I know there is the legacy and all that, but I already went through and did all my texts and I don’t feel like doing them all over again not to mention I can’t believe Sony would leave this option out.

In Titles & Test, there is a Location drop-down where you can specify exact location of the text box. The first number is the Y-axis. Simply make the Y-number consistent and all titles will be left aligned.

For the record, none of the options are great in Vegas for creating basic PowerPoint style titles and builds. The Legacy titler is the simplest, by choosing Top Left, Center Left or Bottom Left placement.

I have a similar question about Title Builds above.

I just re-read your post and realize that the numbers aren’t working. I went and tried myself and the “Location” feature is utterly meaningless. It appears the the X,Y specifies the center of the box which is useless.
