VEGAS PRO 10c CRASHES WHEN ADDING AUDIO FX’s
I just purchased Sony Vegas Pro 10 three days ago and installed it immediately on my brand new 64-bit HP desktop computer, with 12GB of RAM, an AMD Phenom II x6 1090T processor, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 graphics card with CUDA. Sony Vegas Pro 10 always crashes whenever I add an audio event effect to the audio clip, such as the reverb effect. Here is the crash report.
Problem Description
Application Name: Vegas Pro
Application Version: Version 10.0c (Build 470) 64-bit
Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
Fault Module: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 10.0\vegas100k.dll
Fault Address: 0x00000001800174F4

Process Path: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 10.0\vegas100.exe
Process Version: Version 10.0c (Build 470) 64-bit
Process Description: Vegas ProThe crash occurs every time I add the audio effect and try to playback. How do I fix this? Editing is smooth until I add an audio effect, then it crashes when playing back the clip I added the audio effect to. I researched on the web and found that there were countless others that are experiencing this exact problem, yet Sony doesn’t seem to have any update patches to resolve this issue. I am wondering if this has anything to do with my 64-bit machine or Vegas Pro 10 in general because this never happened to me on Sony Vegas Pro 9 that I had installed on my 32-bit machine. I have tried about every option I could think of, including system recovering my computer, and still the problem persists. Being a Sony die hard, I am frustrated and extremely disappointed, especially spending over $500 for a software program that doesn’t even work. Anyone please help! Thank you
