    Hey!

I am making a video using a song (on separate audio track)

    Problem:

The beginning of the song is very quite (silent) and gradually exaltates towards the culminative accord, whereupon the song takes real strenth.

I need to raise the volume of JUST the silent part. All through it equally. I couldn’t find how to do it without touching the whole track. Moreover fade in/fade out function seems to work only for lowing the volume and apart from that applies only to the beginning and the end of the audio track.
I might also need increase/decrease of the volume in the middle sections in the future.

    Please, any ideas?

Right-click the track and choose Insert > Insert/Remove Envelope > Volume. You’ll get a line (the envelope) that represents the volume for that track — dragging it up raises the volume, dragging it down lowers the volume.

To affect only part of the track, double-click the envelope to add points and drag the points or the line between two points to change the volume.

Note that anything after the last envelope point will have the volume of that point, so be sure to add a point at the end of your “silent” section so that the rest of the song doesn’t get its volume level.

Many many thanks Rob!!! Tonight I will try to do all of this. Hope it works. Or if I still have questions I will show up again 🙂

I also found this tip very helpful, although I used Insert from the dropdown menu (wasn’t there when I right clicked).

    Cheers,

    Marcus

The shortcut for this is to select the audio track by clicking it and then pressing the V (for Volume) key.
