Vegas Movie Studio 9 Plat Pro Pack vs. Vegas Pro
Ok, I will be buying a flavor of Vegas soon, very soon.
So Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack has been released and seems to address many of the features which were missing from MS8 plat.
However I cannot seem to find a clear comparison (even on their compare page: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiopp/compare )
What I want are all the features from MS8 Plat, the sound editor and ESPECIALLY the ability to output 264 encoded HD videos I cannot encode them inside my MS8 Plat version at HD resolutions, just 640×480.
Can someone please let me know if MS9 pro pack can output 264 HD?

All your concerns will be solved if you purchase Vegas Pro 8.
Don’t know much about ‘media studio’ series, but i kinda doubt
MS9 has the ability to output H-264 encoded HD video content.Steve Rhoden

Since Sony has a free trial of VMSP 9, I’d recommend that you download it and see for yourself. It does say AVCHD support so it might contain the Sony AVC render which supports H.264 encoding from PSP memory stick to Blu-ray discs in Vegas Pro 8.
Like Steve, I also use Vegas Pro 8 so I really can’t say what the new VMSP 9 can do (sorry).

It only encodes to mp4 at 640×480 or lower…which is junk, but for now it’s what’s in my budget. Maybe when pro gets a version 9 I’ll have the $$$ for an upgrade.
