Vegas Movie Studio 11 HD advice
Hello, and thanks in advance for the help.
I am making a video(s) on Vegas 11 HD. The video will be seen on a large screen projector, and played through a Mac Book via a DVD (or USB flash drive?). The source video comes from multiple sources: Flip HD camera, a Contour Roam HD camera, and still digital images from my Nikon.
1. What is the best format to begin the project with for the best image
2. The project is very long, is there any benefit to rendering sections of it as I go, or would that even work?
3. Should I burn the DVD with DVD architect 5? I do not have a blue ray burner. Or can it be burned to USB flash drive?
4. One of the videos will have NO audio, any advice on shortening the rendering/burning time for that. (it will be projected DJ music)Thanks again…

What is the resolution of the projector? This will determine the resolution you should use for your video.

The “best” image will be one that takes advantage of all of the resolution the projector can give. Without knowing that, I would recommend HD 1920×1080 since the source is HD.

There is no need to do this. You can just render the whole thing when you’re done. Intermediate renders are up to you. Just make a timeline selection and render that section. Then place it back on the timeline as the top track in the same place. In fact you can use the Render to New Track option (Ctrl+M) to do this.

DVD’s are SD 720×480. You will get the best quality by rendering to MainConcept AVC/AAC using the Internet HD 1080p template or whatever template Movie Studio has for rendering 1080 internet HD. Then put that on a USB stick for use on the MacBook Pro.

Nothing special to do here. Audio renders very quickly so the inclusion or absence of it will have little affect on render times.

i just got the contour roam 2 camera, and use sony vegas pro to editing my videos. But it is the h.264 mp4 files recorded by my Coutour Roam 2 HD Action camera, which is practically impossible to edit such video in Vegas, so i changed the mp4 files to Sony Vegas more supporting format.
