    Hi everybody,
I was just wondering if any of you guys or girls could help me out. I upload gaming videos to Youtube and record them from my Xbox using a device called the Hauppauge HD PVR. I record in 720p. I edit my videos on Camtasia Studio at the moment but would like to make the switch to
Vegas. There is one problem, whenever I open up footage in Sony Vegas it crops the video. FYI they are MP4 files but I’ve also tried recording in M2TS and it still doesn’t work. I tried scale video to fit window and that still doesn’t work. I know that Vegas is compatible with the HD PVR recorded files as many of my friends use it. Just wondering if you guys could help me out, thanks a lot!

I’m not seeing any 720P files……if the xbox is outputting 720 P and you are capturing in 720×480 you may have aspect ratio issues.

Yeah you’re right I made a mistake it is actually 1280p, I just reinstalled Vegas and it still doesn’t work. But it works with other video files

According to the Properties window that you showed us, Vegas thinks the video is 720×480. You might want to use a tool like GSpot or MediaInfo and see if they agree. You cut off the bottom of the preview window in your screen capture so I can’t tell what the pixel aspect ratio is. Also, your project is set for 720×480 in that screen capture. So nothing about that screen cap is set to 1280x720p.

You might want to try changing your video preview to Preview (Auto) and see if you get more of the frame. (It’s currently on Preview (Full) )

Yea when i was helping my friend set up his Happauge we had the same problem, the issue is that the file sppecifies the original width and height as differnt to the original width and height IE its got 2 different width and height values, 4 in total, i guess its a glitch of some sort in the way media extreme saves, the solution was to not save in MP4, save in .TS instead
