  • Vegas Crashing when going to Audio tab in render options

Posted by Andrew Turner on February 3, 2010 at 12:54 pm

Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before. I am trying to render to a quicktime file. I choose custom and then select the audio tab which causes vegas to crash. This only happens when i choose .mov, customise and then select the audio tab. All other export formats are ok with audio.

I have tried re-installing quicktime but this has not helped. Has anyone else come across this before.?

    Cheers

Andrew, I’m having the same problem.
I’m using the latest version of QuickTime so I’m not sure if that’s the source of the problem or not as I haven’t bothered rolling back to an earlier version to test it.

Funny thing is Mike is that it was working. It’s a real mystery.

    Andrew, I’m running QuickTime 7.6.4
Is yours the same (or newer) version?
Did it stop working for you after you did an iTunes update?
I’m asking because that’s when a lot of us started having problems with importing mp4 files into Vegas.

Hi Mike. I was running the latest Quicktime 7.6.5 but unsure what the original version was before I had these issues.

I thought updating to the latest may solve the issue.

I have done some testing rolling back to 7.6.4 and still had the same issue. I just finished re-installing vegas and still have the same issue. I’ll keep rolling back through quicktime versions to see if thats the issue.

Thanks very much for the update Andrew.
Now to see if that will cure an unrelated problem I have encoding to QuickTime.
