    Hi guys,
I am a complete novice at video so excuse me if I am missing something glaringly obvious.
When I bring HD media (from a 7D) into Vegas Pro 10 everything starts out fine. I start editing and still it seems fine, but as I add more clips Vegas keeps crashing. I can’t seem to get an edit of more than four minutes without Vegas stopping working. Is it ok to work directly with the h.264 codec or should I be converting before working in Vegas? If so, what should I be converting to?
Also, I tried rendering a 4 minute video to 1080HD and after 5 hours it was at 0% with an estimates 10 hours remaining, the time remaining was increasing at around 12 seconds per second. If it had completed 1% in 5 hours then mathematically it would take 20 days to render a 4 minute video! This can’t be right surely?

    Windows Vista 32bit
    2.4 Quad Core
    2GB RAM

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow I’ve had this problem since version 9, and never got it figured out at all, in fact it would do it with standard video at about 40-50 minutes of editing. Personally think its a memory bug but not everyone edits 1-2 hours of video yo see it happen… Talked to many experts saying try 64 bit and try that but never got ot working. I use version 8 still.
