Vegas closes upon any attempt to render
Posted by Jack Hawksley on January 10, 2015 at 12:51 pmWith a fresh install of Windows 7 on my new SSD, Vegas Pro 13 build 310 displays this message whenever I try to render anything, followed by the program closing.
“exception processing message 0xc0000005 parameters 0x000007fefd2e718c”
Any help would be appreciated.

The latest version of Vegas Pro 13.0 is Build 428. I would download and install that to make sure that you’re not chasing any known bugs.

January 10, 2015 at 6:36 pmWhat is the output destination? An external drive? The system (C:) drive? Of it errors immedi when starting it might be an administrative error (unable to write to the drive) or avail space on the drive.

January 10, 2015 at 6:54 pmThe output is on the system drive, in the “my documents” folder. There is more than enough space on the drive, however I’m not certain that it’s related to an administrative issue. How could I check?

January 10, 2015 at 11:07 pmDid you install any Codec Packs? Could some other software be conflicting or do you just have Windows 7 and Vegas Pro and nothing else?

January 10, 2015 at 11:21 pmIs there more to the error message than just that one line? It’s not lot to go by. I’ve never had Vegas Pro fail to render on a clean install of Windows 7.

January 10, 2015 at 11:56 pmI’ll try reinstalling Windows 7 again, installing only drivers and Vegas, and I’ll see what happens.

January 11, 2015 at 1:40 am[Jack Hawklsey] “Fault Module Name: clr.dll
Fault Module Version: 4.5.19.0”Looks like the fault is in clr.dll which is a .Net 4.5 component. Vegas Pro 13.0 doesn’t use .Net 4.5 it uses .Net 4.0. Make sure that .Net Framework 4.0 is install with all the latest patches from Windows Update. This is what’s causing Vegas Pro to fail.
I also found this hotfix from Microsoft:
FIX: “Faulting module name: clr.dll” error message when you run a Microsoft .NET Framework 4-based application
