I have a vector logo created in Illustrator. I want to lay it on top of video with a transparent background. I can’t seem to lose the white background. Thanks in advance.

Right-click on the event that holds the PNG and select Properties and then Media Tab and make sure the Alpha channel is set to something other than none. Using straight (unmatted) is usually best for PNG’s. If this is the case, then are you sure you save the PNG with a transparent background in Illustrator? If yes, then are you sure the white isn’t part of the file? Go back to Illustrator and remove the white so that only the Logo and transparent background remains and then export that as a PNG with transparency.

Or, if you have the creative suite that contains Fireworks you can simply save it as a fireworks file (png) and it will show up automatically with a transparent background in Vegas.
