Vegas and Blu-ray compliant AVC formats
DVDA help identifies a number of Blu-ray compliant AVC formats that you can create if you are using an application other than Sony Vegas:
From DVDA Help

720×480 29.970 interlaced 16:9

1280×720 50 interlaced 16:9
1280×720 24.000 interlaced 16:9
1280×720 23.976 interlaced 16:9
1440×1080 29.970 16:9
1440×1080 25 16:9
1440×1080 24.000 16:9
1440×1080 23.976 16:9
1920×1080 29.970 16:9
1920×1080 25 16:9
1920×1080 24.000 16:9
1920×1080 23.976 16:9The implication to me was if I could produce compliant AVC media for DVDA in, let’s say, Premier, I should also be able to produce compliant media in Vegas. But this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Specifically, all attempts to produce compliant (i.e., no DVDA recompress) 1280×720 29.970 16:9 AVC media in Vegas have not worked for me. So my questions are:
1. Has anyone figured out how to produce these formats in Vegas?
2. More importantly, why doesn’t SCS provide Vegas AVC templates for all of the blu-ray compliant formats? Perhaps this is a technical issue with Sony’s AVC?Jerry
