  Vegas 9pro “opens” XDCAM-EX clips ….mmmm

  I’m testing Vegas 9pro and one of the new features I was expecting is the capability of opening XDCAM-EX clips WITHOUT any conversion (as “rewrapping” to mxf with Clip browser)…. the new “device explorer” can see the original clips BUT there is a conversion process (to mp4 again ???) if you try to put them on your timeline … in other words, Vegas must CONVERT again the original clips creating another set of clips for editing them… I guess (abd HOPE) the quality is the SAME as the original clips (as with mxf), but why promote something that do not have any advantages over the previous clip browser’ workflow ??? is just as if Sony integrates Clip browser in Vegas …..
  As far as I know, Premiere (ugh) CAN read the original clips on the timeline without adding extra-clips…. and that’s an advantage for me…
