    Vegas Movie Studio 9.0b
    Windows XP SP3 1gig

Project: several still photos in the timeline enhanced with effects like crop/pan and lens flare, etc. along with an audio track.

Problem: working at the clip level (individual photos), the event FX work fine. Working at the Track FX level (i.e. a lens flare effect across several clips, photos), when editing the keyframes (moving them around, etc.) always freezes Vegas. The “Video Track FX” window turns white and I have to use the windows task manager to shut it down.
Besides crop/pan, the only effects I’m using elsewhere in the video (all at the clip level) are pinch/punch, lens flare, and newblue cartoonr (free version).

Tried: disabling all Startup applications and Background Services in msconfig. So that also means no virus programs running. Wow, my computer runs faster but Vegas still freezes.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks all!

Try removing the New Blue effects and see what happens. I have heard of problems with them.

Not at the right computer now, but will try that later.

    Thanks.

I think that was it. Thanks, Danny!

Danny, I’ve not heard of any serious issues with NewBlueFX and Vegas. If there are any issues, the first thing to do would be to make sure you are on the most current version. Then if there’s still issues, please contact NewBlue support.
