  Vegas 8.1 and SoundForge install problems

  I’m trying to put together a mobile Vegas edit box based on a Dell quad core laptop and am

  having a few problems. Vista64 Ultimate.

  I first installed SoundForge 8 followed by the Noise Reduction plugin and both registered and work

  fine.

  Then Installed Vegas7 as prliminary for the upgrades to 8 then 8.1(64bit) which are both now in and

  working.

  So my problems are:

  SoundForge no longer has any plugins available. the FX Favourites/organize menu is empty.

  Some time ago Vista whinged about rundll32 not working as Forge opens but this no longer happens now. When Forge loads there is a brief flash of ?info screen as the app loads, but as this is loading from an SSD drive it all happens so quickly as to be subliminal!

  Vegas Pro 8.0 (32bit) and Vegas Pro 8.1(64bit): neither will install media manager (no big issue for me) or (much more importantly!) XDcam manager when selected in the preferences.

  I was also very disappointed when doing some test renders of SD material, just how slow the renderer is. Checking just how much use the cores were getting. Only two cores were doing any work and each of those was only at about 45% Should I expect this?
