I am making a Video that has both audio dialog as well as background music and would like to be able to ramp the music up or down whenever the dialog kicks in. Can anyone tell me the best (and easiest) way to do this?
Thanks for your help – great Vegas site.

Put a volume envelope (shortcut key is V) on the music track and adjust as desired.
Or, since you’re using Vegas 7, you can automate it and adjust the level as the track is playing.

Besides using Volume envelopes as Mike mentioned, you can use thrird-party software like Excalibur to duck your audio automatically.

There’s a sample video on how to do a voice-over here.
