Price is just right as well. $250 for the upgrade, nice. Cheaper if you want to download.

September 12, 2006 at 8:59 amIn the past, registered owners of Vegas or Vegas+DVD have had additional discounts made available. Usually a few hours or so after launch.
Seems odd that you can buy a full pro Vegas6 packaged for $99 from discount store (or B&H) and upgrade it to Vegas7+DVDA4 for the same price as someone who has Vegas6+DVD or VV3. Then again, you’d expect the pricing to be simple and within the reach of a professional’s pocket. So fairness probably doesn’t come into it.
I’ll watch for the further early-bird discounts whilst I’m evaluating the benefits for me. I have a suspicion that this is going to go Star Trek on me. ie Like the Star Trek films, only the even numbers may be fantastic for my particular tastes. 😉 [a good friend of mine recently drew that comparison, so I’m trying to coin in on it!}

September 12, 2006 at 12:42 pmYeah, it appears as if they want 234 dollars for the upgrade—-Unless you are doing HDV it doesn’t appear to be worth it. A very disappointing release.

September 12, 2006 at 5:00 pmWhat really makes me mad is that I just purchased Vegas 6 in early August. This was after spending over an hour with the Sony reps at a trade show in July. If I had know that a new version was coming that soon I’m sure I would have waited. I have not even installed the copies I purchased. I think they should have warned me that a new version was due soon.

September 12, 2006 at 5:22 pmwe’ll see if your logic works – I skipped on v6, so v7 looks extra tasty, esp the new features in A4

September 12, 2006 at 7:40 pmThe cut off date is 30 days before the announcement or 8/12. I’m not sure the date we actually ordered so I am having the bookkeeper check. I understand they can’t sell it until its released, but I would have thought a little heads up was warranted.

September 12, 2006 at 10:46 pmActually, a little heads up is probably illegal under Sarabnes-Oxley.
