  • Vegas 4.0 – rendering makes song slower

    Hi Everyone!

Did I make myself clear? 😉

Well, when I render a song or single track in Vegas 4.0 the final file (wav, mp3 etc.) always loses a little bit of tempo. In other words, the final (rendered) song comes out slower than the recorded project.

That’s quite annoying when I record guitars for other musicians and send them wav files of my tracks, they always get out of sync.

Does anyone know the problem – and a solution? Maybe it’s just some settings I have to change…

Thanxx a lot right in advance – stay creative.

Just a guess, but did you record at 44.1kbps and “render as” using a 48kbps template?

I was going to guess about the refresh rate as well on the music.

But you should upgrade. You can get the Movie Studio version of the latest Vegas release for $80 or so.

As I understand it, the OP is just using Vegas for the audio editing. If this is the case, then the Studio version may well limit him in the number of tracks. I don’t think that much has changed in Vegas audio since Version 4, so if it ain’t broke…

To the OP – if there’s any chance that there’s something in Vegas 4 that is contributing to your tempo problem, you can always download a trial of Version 12. By the way – how much slower?

Thank you very much. I looked everywhere but found out that I am using the same sample rate both to record and to render…

P.S. let’s say it slows a 3 minute song down by about 2 bmp. When you insert the rendered file back in the project you see that it has become slightly longer…

It would be a good idea if you upgrade to a more recent version
of Vegas as soon as you can.
