Vegas 12 Pro > Resolve 9 > Vegas 12 Pro > 2K Projection
Hi Fellows,
I am editing a project in Vegas 12 that I shot on 5d.The footage once edited will be graded in resolve and then brought back to vegas for final delivery.I am trying to figure out a workflow that can help me get the best quality with minimum loss. The final deliverable will be screened in 2k projection.
I did the mistake of doing my first cut using the .mov files in H264 without thinking about the entire workflow.

You’ll need to transcode to a mezzanine codec. Something like DNxHD would work since you’re on a PC, but I’m not sure if Vegas can read/export that codec.
Otherwise, you’ll have to look a different type of codec – Motion JPEG, JPEG 200, DVCPRO HD, or a MPEG IMX – for your intermediate. Resolve 9 can play h.264 files, but it’s not the workflow I’d recommend.
