Vegas 12 Pro, is not showing as installed
Tried to run Vegas Pro 12 today, the start Icon looked strange.
It said Vegas was not installed. I checked Windows 7 Program Data it showed both Vegas 12 & DVD Arch 6, but the folders were almost completely empty! I tried to Install off the disc, but get an error that the version on your system is newer than the version being installed! (please uninstall the existing version before installing. Trying to uninstall gives me an error “There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.” I’m trying an uninstall not an install.Help how do I get this running Again!?

Do you have a system restore point to when it worked? I also make Windows System Image backups anytime I install a new program and the computer is still running very well. Acronis Program manager is a great backup tool as well.
If you use your PC on line or add new programs periodically, you need a good backup to recover from as problems that can arise are inevitable. Some problems can even disable your ability to use system restore. Making a backup to another drive is always good practice. Hears another free backup tool. I haven’t tried it but my father has and he says it works, even with USB3 drives where Win 7 System Image tool does not.

You can also try deleting every single Vegas folders from your
system, then instead of installing off the disc, download the newest

I found my Secondary Hard drive has problems, trying to rebuild.
Sony Vegas was booting from secondary drive. -

It sounds like the drive is bad. I would not attempt to rebuild it since, with a malfunctioning drive, a rebuild may do more harm than good. I would replace it with a new drive, and then attempt to salvage any data files from the old drive. I would never trust the old drive again. When all is said and done, and assuming you lack a system backup, it may be necessary to completely reinstall Windows. In the future, Acronis True Image is an excellent way to prevent this kind of problem.

Found some Vegas files got put into recycle bin.
After I restored the files everything is good.Thank you for your Help!
