Vegas 12 and 13 crash on render
I’m working on a project on my laptop out in the field (at a conference with lawyer clients) and every time I set vegas to rendering (Mainconcept mp4, Sony MP4, Mainconcept MPG2 are the containers I’ve tried) Vegas displays the first 15 or 20 frames then crashes immediately. In spite of 25-30 error reports to Sony and submitting 3 service tickets over the last week I’m just about ready to entirely switch from Vegas, but before doing so I’d love to figure out what the hell is going on.
Laptop specs:
2014 ASUS Republic of Gamers Laptop
Intel Core i7-4700HQ @2.4GHz
24GB RAM
Windows 8 64-bit
Sony Vegas 12.0 Build 770
Sony Vegas 13.0 Build 453 -

To help you isolate your problem, you will have to provide a lot more detailed information including: 1) the media that your are using–your input files-what format and specific codecs that are being used. A representative screenshot from MediaInfo would be the most helpful. 2) your project settings. Again, a screenshot from your project window. And finally 3) your render settings–again a screenshot. Most likely, there is a mismatch somewhere in your workflow. The more detailed information you provide, the more likely someone can assist. Right now, all we know is that Vegas crashes.

Do you have any Codec Packs installed? (e.g., K-Lite) These have been know to crash Vegas when rendering.
