  • Vegas 11 and 12 not running correctly, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still nothing.

I’ve been having issues with Vegas for over a week now. One day the program became very laggy and nonresponsive, and I’m unable to render any video.

Over the time I’ve been having issues the program has become progressively worse. If I click another point on the timeline, it can take over five seconds for the preview window to catch up.

I have uninstalled Vegas, tried the 32 bit version, deleted all files associated with Sony, downloaded Vegas 12 and installed it, after uninstalling Vegas 11, and nothing has worked.

Nothing else runs slowly on my laptop, and every test shows it performing normally.

Is there anything that could be causing Vegas to run so poorly?

    Thanks,
    Tyler

Install only Vegas 12 on your system, then go into
preferences and under the General tab tick/select “Close media
files when not the active application
    “.
and “Close audio and midi ports when not the active application“.
    then tell me what happens.
Also uninstall any codec packs or codec you may have
installed and any other video related application you
may have running on your system.

These are already checked on my copy. I have just Vegas 12 installed. When I close Vegas, a white box also appears, and has a small loading bar in the bottom left. When I click “x” on that, the program finally closes.

Would it help if I posted a video of how Vegas is behaving?

Maybe. Im here thinking what is wrong thats off with
your system or what its conflicting with, because Vegas
on its worst day doesnt give that much trouble.
