  • Vegas 10 Problems Rendering as MP4 Error – 2010

Posted by James Michael on June 12, 2011 at 11:24 pm

    I use Vegas 10 and I still have 9.0e.

When I render for MP4, the render goes along fine. But when I try a plack back I get the standard:
“Error -2010: the movie contains some invalid data ” and if I try uploading to YouTube it crashes.
I’ve tried the WMV V11 format. When I use that Render “save as” the movie has the Jitters and freeze frames.

    My Properties at setup are:

    HDV 1280 X 720 HD 30fps

    My system is as follows:
    AMD Phenom (II) X6 1090 T Processor 3.2 GHz
    8 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 with 1 GB DDR5 mem
    64-bit system
    Win 7 Home Edition

    Vegas 10.0c Build 470

    Any help would be appreciated.

Is there another format to render to that will upload to Vid Sights?
Do I need some special CODEC?
    Or?

    Thanks again

First you should be running 10d.

If You Tube is your goal, then MP4 and WMV are the wrong formats.

Render As “Sony AVC” (*.mp4,*.m2ts,*avc,) with the Template: “AVCHD 1920×1080-60i”.

Now click on the “Custom” button beside the template drop down menu.
In the window that pops up, copy the following settings exactly, and if there is something that you see that isn’t listed below, such as boxes to be ticked/unticked, leave them unticked.
    VIDEO TAB:
    • Video Format: AVCHD
    • Frame Size: High definition (1920×1080)
    • Profile: High
    • Entropy Coding: Cabac
    • Frame Rate: 29.970 (NTSC)
    • Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0000
    • Bit Rate: 16,000,000
    AUDIO TAB:
    • Audio Format: Dolby Digital Ac-3 Studio
    • Sample Rate (Hz): 48,000
    • Bit Rate (bps): 128,000
    • Audio Coding Mode: 2/0 (L,R)
    SYSTEM:
    • Format: MPEG-2 transport stream (.m2ts)
    PROJECT:
    • Video Rendering Quality: Best

BEFORE EXITING THE WINDOW, go to the top where it says “Template:” and put in your own name for the template. (I use “YouTube 1080p”) then hit the save button (the button that is a floppy disk icon). Now you can click OK.

The next time that you want to render with these settings again on a different video, you can easily because you saved a custom template: File, Render As, “Save As Type”, select Sony AVC. In the “Template” drop down menu select “YouTube 1080p”
