I’ve having trouble getting C4D to render out frames with both Vector Motion Blur and Depth of Field together.

At the moment, the first phase of each pass is to render the scene, then it renders the motion blur (actually shows the blur being added) then it adds the Depth of Field. However at the point it adds the depth of field it seems to overwrite/remove the motion blur effect.

Does this happen to anyone else or should I be doing something?

    Thanks all,
    Dan

Unfortunately it’s a limitation. They’re both post effects and one cancels the other out.

Really? That’s not good. What would be a good way around this problem?

The only workaround I know is to use scene motion blur instead of vector motion blur. Unfortunately SMB is quite slow, but you can generally turn off AA when you use it which helps.

Maybe render out a separate depth pass and render motion blur in c4d and dof in after effects?
