Vector Math Point Calculation
Hello community,
I have a vector math problem that I was not able to solve so far and would really appreciate any kind of assistance or suggestions:
I have three given points (A,B,C) and two 90° angles at A and C that should result in a kite square. What is left is the calculation of point D.
I know I can calculate the angle β with the dot product, but how would I proceed from there? I can’t convert that into finding the coordinates.
Oh…and I don’t have to account for the case of all three points being on one line – this is already impossible by design.
Thank you very much,
Thomas
(first 2 images had the wrong angle name, third is correct, can’t delete images via edit?)
