Varicam recording direct to disk
Hi,
I have a question regarding live footage capture to Final Cut Pro. I am using a AJ-HDC27H varicam with a HD1200a deck, and i was wondering if I could use the HD1200a deck to allow me to live capture footage in FCP using firewire. I was attempting to try this method:
Run the HD-SDI cable from the varicam to the HD1200a deck, then run the firewire from the HD1200 to the macbook pro using FCP. It works flawless if i record to tape then read the tape via the HD1200a. I can capture in FCP with no problems. Just wondering if it was possible to record direct to disk using the HD1200a since there is no firewire out from the varicam. Thanks for the help.
