VariCam 3700, Cinedeck, green screen, dual stream 444, ProRes 4444 vs Uncompressed 10-bit 444
Hello all,
I thought I would query the collective mind that is the Cow.
Title sums it up nicely. Apart from being almost 6x as large, is there any reason I should favor uncompressed over ProRes 4444 as my acquisition format for green screen work.
The media on the Cinedeck are two 256 GB 2.5″ SSD drives, which gives me a little over 20 mins record time, which could be a bit of a bottleneck on set with a roughly 50 min transfer per card via eSATA.
I’m leaning toward ProRes, but I would appreciate if someone could tell me why that’s wrong.
Thoughts?
Thank you for your time.
