Did a search but didn’t see this. Has anybody had success adapting a AJ-HVF27P viewfinder (from our 27FP) to the Varicam 2700. I see that the mount is different and Panasonic pushes the AJ-HVF21G, but our dealer said that either would work. I’m getting ready to call the dealer now, but thought someone might have come across an adapter plate for the old viewfinder….

    Thanks

Older B/W finders will not work on the P2 Varicams. The camera outputs 1080 to viewfinder… older models sent out 720p.

Thanks Chris, we ended up buying the new 1080 viewfinder (had no choice!). To other 2700 buyers, beware of vendors who might lead you astray by claiming your older Varicam viewfinder will transfer to the 2700…it won’t. We should have known better.
