  • Varicam 24p capture “Make new clip on timecode break” not working

    Hello,

I was capturing some DVCPRO-HD Varicam footage yesterday (from the 1200a Panasonic deck) through firewire using the DVCPRO HD 720p24 setting in FCP. The footage was flagged 23.98 (remove duplicate frames on capture) which works fine. A couple of times during capture a time code break was encountered due to a camera battery change when shooting. I have selected in my settings to “Make a new clip on timecode break during capture”, but instead of doing that FCP would stop capturing and I would lose what had been captured to that point. I would then get an “FCP encountered a timecode break” error.

When capturing from DV, the “create new clip” system of capturing works fine when hitting some timecode breaks, but with the Varicam it does not seem to work the same way.

Does anyone have any advice on this situation?

    Thanks,

    Mike
